Ireland 3: Bangor Trail

Meant to be one of the more isolated walks in Ireland, the 39km between Bangor and Newport make for a nice walk. The trail crosses upland bogs,

and most of the trail was waterlogged, making progress slow...
y de hecho buena parte del camino está inundado...
and more apt for swimming.

Ireland 2: Mayo

My second home this summer will be in Newport, in Mayo. The gorse and one of the species of heather (Irish heath) are already in bloom around here.
Además de en Donegal, también estaré trabajando en el condado de Mayo. Aquí el Ulex y una de las especies de brezo ya están en flor. El brezo en cuestión (Erica erigena) se supone introducida y naturalizada hace siglos siguiendo rutas comerciales (su distribución europea se limita a la península, el suroeste de Francia y el oeste de Irlanda).

Ireland v3.1: Horn Head

Well, Ireland once again... Waders in machair habitats this time around. No work pictures yet (always try to settle into the job during the first few weeks before lugging the camera about for fieldwork). But for the time being, here's a few from Horn Head in Donegal, close to one of my two homes for the summer.

Irlanda... otra vez... A la tercera va la vencida (a saber que querrá decir en mi caso, jejeje). Esta vez trabajando con limícolas en hábitats costeros. De momento no hay fotos del curro, las primeras semanas las dedico a cogerle el truquillo al trabajo, antes de empezar a llevar la cámara a cuestas en el campo. Mientras tanto, algunas de Horn Head en Donegal, la península donde está una de las dos casas que usaré este verano.
